In view of the fact that the demands on the manufacture of serial metal parts are increasingly higher, PECM technology represents a growing market with a future. A PECM centre permits economical processing of serial metal parts even if they have difficult geometries and materials in hardened status. The number of parts to be machined does not play any role as regards process duration – a decisive advantage for serial processing. Another major advantage of precision ECM processing is the fact that this erosion technique incurs minimum or no electrode wear.
Precision ECM technology – the future of which has only just begun – is still a niche market. All the more reason why we were so interested in acquiring the leading minds of this technology for our company right from the very start. And with their help, we have developed and manufactured today’s machines. This is yet another reason why we are among the leading providers of PECM machining centres.
Regardless of whether the PEM 2000, PEM 4000, PEM 6000 or PEM 8000 machining centre is applied in serial operation, their function and consistent precision have already proved their worth in a wide variety of market areas, including in shift operation. The potential harboured by precision ECM technology has by no means been fully exploited and therefore offers sufficient capacity for further developments. Accordingly, many customer-specific solutions have already been realised making economical production possible in the first place. We are also happy to be of service when it comes to the automation process and integration in automatic manufacturing processes in our centres. Nor does linking the software to other systems present any problems. What’s more, we are permanently developing our machines and realising special customer requests time and time again. Retrofitting various modules often represents a significant improvement potential for the respective user and is already possible in the case of machinery supplied. What’s important here of course is the requisite application or purpose of the machine.
And to stay in the language of familiar and conventional metal processing: a PEM machining centre permits roughing, smoothing and polishing in a single machining and erosion process without necessitating any electrode change.
And this is a key factor for feasible and future-oriented manufacturing.
